The Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa (OHADA) is working toward a unified system of business law in order to encourage foreign investment in, and commerce with, Africa. OHADA has currently 17 member countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Cormoros, Congo, Ivory Coast, Gambon, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal, RDC and Togo. Ghana and Nigeria are interested in membership, though not yet committed. This book presents the Uniform Acts that have been issued by OHADA to date concerning general commercial law, It is intended as a practical guide, outlining the advantages that this new body of law presents in creating a more secure climate for investment, but realistic about any problems that may nevertheless arise.
